Such job encompasses all aspects related to retail transactions in cashing, depositing, withdrawing, exchanging payment for monetary instruments (i.
e.
cashier's checks or money orders), issuing monetary instruments, accepting loan payments, facilitating permitted uses of ODP (Overdraft Protection) and performing credit card cash advances for customers.
In the course of accepting transactions, the employee must be proficient in examining checks for proper endorsement, verifying the legality of documents, ensuring positive identification of customers, and following internal policies and procedures as well as state and Federal banking laws.
Performs other duties and services as needed and as assigned.
Responsibilities/ Duties Build relationships and trust with customers/prospects by making positive identification of account holders, and reviewing signature cards to determine ownership and/or check-signing authority.
Make effective referrals to other departments for services such as loans, new accounts, safe deposit, and wires/ACHs.
During the course of processing transactions, the employee is charged to examine checks for proper endorsement, and understand procedures to place funds on 'hold,' which prevents loss by giving credit on deposits not yet collected (i.
e.
uncollected funds), and adhering to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) procedures.
Assist customers in processing coin through the coin machine and exchanging for credit.
Also, assist supervisors by transferring filled bags to vault.
Participate in activities to support the bank's mission to invest in the local community as well as build camaraderie with fellow employees.
Represent the bank at community events and civic organizations.
Maintain a working knowledge of all bank products and services, cross-selling services, and helping to create and maintain a warm, inviting bank atmosphere by greeting fellow employees and bank visitors in a genuine manner soon after arrival on premises.
Refer check and/or temporary check orders, or orders to obtain or replace a debit card to Account Services (i.
e.
New Accounts).

Record all transactions promptly, accurately and in compliance with bank procedures.

Balance currency, coin, checks in cash drawers, cash dispensers and ATMs.
Vault duties may be assigned to ensure efficient filling of cash orders and dual control.

Assist in the periodic (typically weekly) loading and servicing ATMs systemwide while ensuring dual control.
We currently have 6 sites to service.

Backup peers in immediate work area as needed.
10.
Provide primary, or relief, staffing at any location with limited notice provided.
11.
Scan items to support Deposit Operations.
12.
Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
Required Qualifications Mental alertness and adaptability to office and field area work routines.
Equivalent to four years high school or GED, with work experience or training emphasis in office skills, interpersonal office relationships, effective customer service, and knowledge and experience in sales and service.
Education or direct experience in these attributes totaling 5 or more years provides the job holder with the training and experience to succeed in the job provided they possess initiative and good work habits, and discipline.
