PRESS OPERATOR

  • SCOPE OF POSITION
  • Assist in ensuring HACCP, GMP s, Work Instructions, and food safety requirementsare in compliance.

  • PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBLITIES
  • Functional Responsibilities include but are NOT limited to:

    • Effectively work with other associates in the department to promote team spirit.
    • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions by Supervisor.
    • Train and work with otheroperators to effectively learn to operate the press.
    • Responsible for inspection of the plates before releasing to Pre-Mounter.
    • Ability to use equipment effectively to maintain the integrity of the plates.
    • Ensure jobs are mounted correctly and compared to the sample bag or blueline for accuracy.
    • Accurately assigns plate mounts and related materials.
    • Responsible for quality, quantity, housekeeping, waste and safety of machine.
    • Communicates all pertinent information to Relief Operator on next shift.
    • Perform other job duties as assigned.
  • FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Plate Maker Equipment
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    • Ability to lift approximately 50lbs.
    • Frequent bending and stooping.
    • Hazards are those normally associated with a plant position and include: noise levels above 85 decibels, warm building temperature during mid-summer months.
    • Personal and product safety requirements for the plant include: hearing protection, safety glasses and safety shoes.
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT
    • On the plant manufacturing floor.
  • QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education& Experience

    • Speak and understand English.
    • Grandfather Clause: Employees classified in this position prior to 01-04-06 must have a tenth-grade education.
    • Employees classified in this position after 01-04-06 require High School diploma or G. E. D. minimum. Exception: This requirement may be waived at the general manager s discretion when (a) associate has established previous work history relevant to this position or (b) associate has demonstrated the ability to perform all aspects of the job task-oriented descriptions during a reasonableperiod of timeas a temporary associate.

    Skills

    • Must be able to communicate in an effective and respectfulmanner.
    • Must be capable of being an effective crew leader.
    • Ability to read, write, comprehend simple math and understand production order.
    • Good math skills.
    • Ability to understand a manufacturing order.
    • Understand the mechanics of the Press and know how to set up Press.


    Don't Be Fooled

    The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
